Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | This paper proposes intra-preamble frequency hopping (FH) for narrowband random access channel (RACH) aiming at improving the detection probability of the correct received timing in multipath fading channel. In the proposed scheme, the preamble signature is segmented into two parts, and the former and latter parts of the preamble signature are assigned to different physical resource blocks that are apart in frequency domain. Computer simulation results show that the proposed intra-preamble FH improves narrowband RACH detection probability by approximately 6 ? 16 % compared to the conventional narrowband RACH transmission without FH for one-antenna reception. We also show when using receive diversity, the intra-preamble FH improves the narrowband RACH detection probability by approximately 10 % compared to the case without FH. Finally, we show that the intra-preamble FH improves the narrowband RACH detection probability when the number of simultaneous users is less than 10 in multiuser environment. |
