Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) LoRa is a low-power long-range IoT standard using the chirp spread spectrum (CSS) technique, and wehave been strived to further extend its coverage range by constructing a multi-hop relay network. In LoRa, the spreading factor (SF) is an important parameter which not only provides great flexibility between data rate and sensitivity, but also presents a new dimension for multiple access. To utilize such multiple-access dimension in our multi-hop LoRa network, we present a tree-based SF clustering algorithm (TSCA) that groups the nodes into several sub-trees rooted at a sink node. Each sub-tree transmits packets using a different SF. In contrast to the SF allocation on a single-hop network, our algorithm focuses on 1) ensuring the connectivity of all sub-trees, 2) offloading the traffic according to a number of nodes, data rates and network topologies of each sub-tree, 3) shortening the air time of each subnet by reducing the hop count. The simulation results show that our approach can significantly increase the network performance.
