Evaluation of Dynamic-duplex Cellular System on LTE Uplink under Micro-cell Environment

Abstract(in English) In recent years, in-band full-duplex (IBFD), which simultaneously allocate uplink (UL) and downlink (DL) to the frequency, has attracted attentions to accommodate proliferating communication traffic for the 5th generation mobile communication systems. The authors has proposed a dynamic-duplex cellular (DDC) system adaptively applying the IBFD to the UL and/or DL subframe based on the Long-term evolution (LTE) system and confirmed the feasibility of the DDC system applying the IBFD to the DL subframe. In this paper, we propose a scheduling scheme for the DDC system applying the IBFD to the UL subframe without degrading the existing UL communication quality. In addition, we evaluate the DDC system by the system level simulation under the micro-cell environment and demonstrate that the DDC system improves DL user throughput.
