Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Microwave assisted magnetic recording (MAMR) has the potential to increase the density of data stored on magnetic disks. One problem is obtaining stable oscillation of the spin torque oscillator (STO) used to generate the high frequency fields that assist recording. Recently, it has been shown that inclining the STO at an angle in the write head gap improves the uniformity of the head field acting on the STO with the result that the STO oscillation was more regular. This work examines the effect of an inclined STO on recorded tracks, focusing on how inclining the STO affects the switching of magnetic grains and the signal to noise ratio (SNR) of recorded tracks.
