Abstract(in English) Multiple network paths are often available as smartphones are equipped with 4G and Wi-Fi network interfaces. In TCP, Multipath TCP, MPTCP in short, is proposed to utilize them to improve throughput and net- work connection availability. With Transport Layer Security (TLS), MPTCP enables TCP applications to securely communicate through multiple network paths. In this paper we propose an extension to DTLS for supporting mul- tipath communication that makes only few changes to the existing DTLS specification and its applications without affecting security. To demonstrate its feasibility, we have experimentally implemented DTLS multipath extension prototype in OpenSSL and performed an experiment. The experiments showed that our proposal requires only a few changes to existing DTLS applications and fail-over can be done transparently to applications.
