Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The dramatic technological advances in the academic field of artificial intelligence is having a big impact on the industrial world and the business community is pinning its hopes on applying the AI technologies, especially those called machine learning and deep learning, to business. When treating these technologies within the existing framework of intellectual property, you are required to handle some unexpected cases. For one, you need to consider whether it is possible to treat each creation in the machine learning/deep learning process as an intellectual property such as the data itself, training dataset, trained model, and utilization process. This presentation will focus on some of the important points to consider for IP professionals when dealing with these technologies as well as some of the much-talked-about topics with regards to the IP protection in the reuse of training datasets and trained models. As a start-up specializing in AI, Preferred Networks has a different IP strategy from those of large companies or SMEs, which I will also introduce in this presentation.
