Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) For improving QoL of elderly people living apart from their independent daughter/son family, we proposed and developed a remote communication system called “Tomo-Livi” that connects two families by information communication technology. The system had two different modes before connecting by video communication mode. One was sharing their co-existence information and the other was sharing their activity information. With their various life styles, they could manually change their desired mode each other. A long term user experiment shows an opportunity increase of video communication under the circumstances of sharing the co-existence and activity information. Based on the result of user study, we propose an adequate communication protocol for mode transition in this paper.
