Abstract(in English) | Recently, personal information on smartphone is often used. Individual authentication of the user is required. Biometrics is well known as more secure solution for it. However, not all devices have fingerprint scanner. Therefore, it will be very convenient to authenticate fingerprints image captured by the camera of the device. In this research, we focused on fractal dimension instead of minutiae and transition of fractal dimension caused by defocusing the fingerprint image. We reappearance the defocusing the fingerprint image by applying Gaussian Blur to fingerprint image taken by scanner. As a result, we found that the fractal dimension transitioned by defocusing and the error rate of authentication improved from about 27% to 0%. |
