Abstract(in English) | Due to the frequency dispersion of the dielectric constant of the printed circuit board in the GHz band, it is a factor of signal attenuation and mismatch. In this report, the complex permittivity of five kinds of FR-4 dielectric substrates is measured by the balanced disk resonator method, and the transmission characteristic Sdd21 is calculated from the complex permittivity obtained from the dielectric constant measurement. By comparing with the transmission characteristic Sdd21 measured by a Vector Network Analyzer (VNA), the relationship between the complex permittivity and the transmission characteristics was studied. In the complex permittivity measurement by the balanced disk resonator method, it was possible to measure with less error even with 10 GHz or more by the measurement method using a standard copper plate. The transmission characteristic Sdd21 calculated from the dielectric constant measurement coincided with the measurement result by VNA within 1 dB. The difference of Sdd21 between substrates was 1dB or less in terms of line length of 100 mm, and it was found that the difference between manufacturer and thickness was small. In addition, it became clear that the difference in dielectric loss affects the transmission characteristics. |
