[Short Paper] Identification method based on thoracic vertebras shapes on ante-mortem and post-mortem CT images

Abstract(in English) This study proposed an identification method based on shape information of thoracic vertebras in ante-mortem (AM) and post-mortem (PM) CT images. Fifty-three PM CT scan data and the corresponding AM CT scan data were collected. The sizes of 10th, 11th and 12th thoracic vertebral body were measured. In the size space, Euclidean distances from a PM data to each AM data were calculated. These calculations were implemented for each PM data. The AM data with shortest distance from the PM data must be the identical person's data. When the distances were sorted in according order for each PM data, 31 PM data correctly identified his/her own first-place AM data. When we searched from first place to 7th place, identification accuracy was 100%.
