Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Photoplethysmography (PPG) is non-invasive and unobtrusive, so it has been commonly used for heart rate (HR) sensing during exercise. PPG-based HR sensor can be applied for almost any part of human body where there is an artery close to the sensor, just by stabilizing it on the skin surface with belt. When sensing HR for a person during exercise, if the fastening belt pressure is low, on the one hand, the sensor is likely to be separated from the skin surface, so its accuracy becomes lower due to motion artifact (MA). If the fastening belt pressure is high, on the other hand, the sensor is likely to make the person uncomfortable. In this paper, to investigate the relationship among “effective HR data processing method,” “the position of human body suited for HR sensing” and “adequate belt pressure to fasten the HR sensor,” we conducted an experiment using 21 male subjects during exercises. |
