Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In wireless LAN, Multi-rate control is a network control method that changes the transmission rate according to signal strength. Therefore, the transmission rate of the mobile station (MST) connected to the access point (AP) is different. System throughput deteriorates due to the influence of the lowest rate MST. This problem is called performance anomaly. Performance anomaly reduces the throughput of all MSTs under the access point. Then, the user experience quality (Quality of Experience: QoE) also decreases. On the other hand, user’s communication behaviour has time dependency and location dependency. Moving the position of the user who is MST closer to the AP can solve the performance anomaly. Therefore, moving the AP to the user increases the throughput, and improves the QoE. In this paper, we set the total QoE of users as social welfare, and move the AP to the position where the social welfare is maximized. By moving AP to the optimal position, the social welfare can be increased by 1%. This value is too small. It will not be useful to move AP from the viewpoint of social welfare.
