Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Organic photovoltaics (OPVs) are expected to be low cost, flexible, and light weight power generation devices in the near future. Here, we examine the antireflection of OPVs using the moth eye structure with functional coating mainly by optimal simulations. We show that when TiO2 coating is introduced on the moth eye surface to maintain the long-term antireflection performance through self-cleaning properties, the photocurrent level is decreased due to discontinuous refractive index profile along the light axis. But, by using two-layer coating including TiO2 film on the moth eye, the performance of OPVs can be recovered to some degree. In addition, the decrease in performance due to gaps between adjacent cones in moth eye array can be compensated by incorporating the functional coating of moth eye. These results provide important insights from wide aspects on the role of the functional coating of moth eye texture for organic photovoltaics.
