Evaluation of Improvement of SISO Propagation Loss and MIMO Channel Capacity by Active Propagation Control

Abstract(in English) The authors have proposed "Active Propagation Control "(APC) as a method to improve receiving transmission performance of wireless communication channel. By APC, we can obtain better transmission performance by changing propagation characteristics actively. In the previous studies, the effectiveness of APC using rotatable large metal plate was shown by indoor measurement and three-dimensional FDTD analysis. In this paper, we evaluate the performance of another propagation control device developed considering safety for human bodies. The device has rotatable narrow metal plates for changing the propagation characteristics. In order to evaluate the variability of the propagation characteristics by the device quantitatively, we perform indoor experiments. We also analyze the indoor propagation characteristics by using the three-dimensional FDTD and compare the results with those by the experiments.
