Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Currently, as a new optical fiber to replace single mode fiber (SMF), a multicore fiber (MCF) having a plurality of cores in one fiber has been proposed. In this study, the optical characteristics of the MCF connector were measured using a 5 core MCF with a clad diameter of 125 μm. Also, Monte Carlo simulation was carried out based on the values obtained from actual measurements, compared with actual measurement values, and connection loss factors of the MCF connector were examined.
