Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have carried out an open and close operation experiments to evaluate the contact reliability of the auxiliary contacts of the electromagnetic contactor. The influence of the circuit conditions and the number of operations on the contact resistance Rc, the arc duration time ta, the molten metal bridge time tb and the arc energy Ea was experimented. The contact surface after the experiment was observed with a 3D laser microscope. As a result, arc discharge occurred in the circuit including the inductance even at DC10V and 1A, and the contact shape was affected. Moreover, from the operation test of 1 million times under the small load condition (DC3V,3mA), it became clear that contact reliability is very high. Because the value of Rc was low and stable. From the surface observation, the transition of the material could not be confirmed.
