Strict and Less Computational Crosstalk-Aware Spectrum and Core Allocation Method in SDM-EONs

Abstract(in English) Space-division multiplexing elastic optical networks have been studied in order to cope with a dramatic increase in traffic. However, in multi-core fiber environments, optical paths are influenced by other optical paths transmitted in the same frequency slot of adjacent cores, and as a result, serious crosstalk could be generated, which deteriorates the quality of the optical paths. In general, XT-aware path set-up algorithms need to check some candidate optical paths to find final solution in order to mitigate the influence of XT. To address this issue while accomplishing as low processing complexity as possible, we propose strict and less computational method in order to prevent the influence of XT strictly by introducing the concept of crosstalk-prohibited slots and evaluate its performance.
