Abstract(in English) | When using existing lighting equipment as landmarks for indoor positioning, it is necessary to determine the equipment’s positions, in advance. Where, in previous studies, all equipment transmitted their various positions using VLC in the experimental field (the lobby-floor), in this research, we propose that only three lights with VLC function (VLC light) be used to estimate the positions of any other lighting equipment. We originally developed a 360?image-capture unit that enables us to capture images of lighting equipment on the ceiling, using two fish-eye lens-equipped cameras. In experiments using the estimated positions of ceiling-lights, the pedestrian positions were calculated, and the degree of error in receiver-positioning fell within 10cm; the same as it was by the previous method. Therefore, we believe that the total number of VLC lights on the ceiling can be reduced, and other lights can be employed as landmarks for indoor positioning. |
