Abstract(in English) | The fifth-generation (5G) mobile communication system has attracted much attention to provide various kinds of mobile services and applications for 2020 and beyond. Massive MIMO in high frequency bands is well known as promising technology to increase both system capacity and data rates dramatically. Massive MIMO can compensate for radio propagation loss by beamforming (BF) and increase frequency efficiency by MIMO spatial-division-multiplexing to multiple user equipment. BF algorithm suitable for each frequency has been studied. Although Massive MIMO has been studied in several frequency bands, this paper focuses on low SHF bands (3-6 GHz). Recently works have been shown performances of digital BF algorithms and propagation trials on low SHF bands. However, transmission performances using experimental equipment have not been clarified enough. Therefore, we developed fully digital Massive MIMO equipment using 4.65 GHz band and this paper shows an effectiveness of fully digital Massive MIMO by measuring coverage and four user multiplexing throughput in actual environment. |
