A Spectrum Allocation Method with Regional Division Considering De-fragmentation in Elastic Optical Networks

Abstract(in English) In the backbone network supporting Internet communications,, optical networks utilizing WDM technology are used. However, it is difficult to utilize the resources of the optical fiber efficiently, because the usable bandwidth for communication is fixed. Elastic optical networks that use O-OFDM technology and can flexibly utilize bandwidth according to the communication capacity are attracting attention. However it has the optical frequency spectrum fragmentation due to the difference of the number of the allocated frequency bandwidth in each path and the necessity of the continuous frequency spectrum. As a means to reduce fragmentation slots, there is a wavelength defragmentation and setting priority area on the wavelength region in the fiber. we propose spectrum allocation method considering wavelength defragmentation and priority area. Therefore, we propose spectrum allocation method considering wavelength de-fragmentation and priority area. As a result of simulation, we showed that reduction of fragmented slots was confirmed and that the network resources could be used efficiently.
