VNF Placement Algorithm considering Multiple Branches of Traffic for Service Chaining

Abstract(in English) In service chaining, node resources can be used effectively by branching traffic to multiple routes and nodes when the amount of available node resources is small. As a result, a lot of service chains can be constructed. Moreover, it is expected that VNF placements and transmission routes are determined so that the transmission cost and the amount of used CPU resources decrease. In this paper, we propose a VNF placement algorithm that considers multipath for service chaining. In the proposed algorithm, the transmission route is branched based on the amount of traffic. In numerical examples, we evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm with simulation and we show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm by comparing with the performances of other methods.
