Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In patient-centric modern medical care, the development of a good-enough relationship between medical professions and patients is required for an effective medical treatment. To establish such relationship, it is essential to perform an appropriate and smooth communication between the two interlocutors and each medical profession must understand communicative abilities needed within his/her own areas. First, this study focuses on Occupational Therapy, among the medical professions, and makes it clear that in communicating with patients, occupational therapists are forced to step into their personal domains. Second, the present study shows, based on linguistic insights, that the threatening act mitigates or disappears.
