Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Annotating actions during conversation is essential to analyze and evaluate dialogue quantitatively. Although automatic annotation is possible for some action labels based on the observed signals, there are annotations that must be assigned by human annotators based on the semantics and values of the target. However, there are variabilities in human judgment within individuals and among them. Therefore, some form of annotation guideline is needed. The difficulty arises when the definition of the target concept is vague and not easily applicable to the annotation guideline. As an example of such vague target, we consider annotation of the compliment that are utterances by the therapists to provide positive emotion to the client of psychotherapeutic interviews. The result of our examination for the concept toward the annotation of compliments are explained.
