Accelerating the sick diagnosis of cucumbers by image processing

Abstract(in English) The population engaged in agriculture in Japan tends to decline year after year. In recent years, with the spread of IoT and drone, it is expected to support production efficiency and reduce labor quantity using the cloud servers. However, it is not preferable to perform all processing on the server side using the cloud servers from the viewpoint of system availability such as increase in transfer cost and fault location. We achieved a sick automatic diagnosis by processing the image of a leaf of the cropper in real time using small processor board without forwarding data on the internet. By parallel optimizing for GPU on labeling, an execution time was 36ms and accelerating rate was 4.3 times from execution on 4 threads CPU. This is faster than 37ms which is the execution time on desk side PCs (Corei7 6700k@4.00GHz).
