Analysis of Factors Affecting improvement of Subjective Well-being in Video-mediated Co-eating Communications for Elderly Parents Who Lives Apart from their Children

Abstract(in English) In this paper, we clarify influences of video-mediated co-eating experiences between elderly parents and their independent child and whether they can improve the parents on the subjective well-being. We examined elderly parents’ QOL evaluation scores for two months during which they performed video-mediated co-eating. The results showed that the co-eating habit have improved elderly parents’ “mood”, “physical condition”, “motivation for tomorrow.” In order to investigate these factors affect, we analyzed conversation scene during video-mediated co-eating. As a result, we found that the elderly parents could be get new topics relevant their child families, get stimulated by their child life topics, and get next an appointment. These factors may have effects on the physical and psychological health of the elderly.
