Abstract(in English) | In this paper, we investigate the relationship between the degradation of sound quality and the parameter quantization in analysis/synthesis of full--band speech using vocoder. We have verified the coding by speech parameters as an approach for high--quality speech coding. A subjective evaluation by MUSHRA was carried out to verify the threshold that the listener cannot perceive the degradation. Experimental results showed that the thresholds of spectral envelope and aperiodicity were 14 and 3 bit, respectively. Since the proposed quantization was performed with a considerably wide range, the obtained thresholds are useful in all kinds of speech to synthesize speech without degradation. |
