Deadline-Aware Scheduling Scheme for Realizing Connected Car in Mobile Network

Abstract(in English) It is expected to realize connected cars that share traffic information of car location and traffic camera image with low delay by using widely-covered mobile networks such as LTE. In order to realize that under massive connective condition, in mobile networks, it is important for data chucks to reach within their deadline. However, conventional schedulers such as Proportional Fairness (PF) cannot meet the deadline because they do not consider it when radio resources are allocated. In this paper, we propose a deadline-aware scheduling scheme that considers chunk size and the deadline in addition to radio quality, and decides prioritization of users with them in order to meet the deadline by increasing amount of data chunks reached within the deadline. We evaluate this method with a simulator that considers cars driving along intersections. As a result, a probability of reaching chunks within the deadline of the proposed method was increased by 5.2 times with compared with PF method.
