Characteristics of molybdenum disulfide under Low speed sliding Contacts

Abstract(in English) Electric sliding contacts are a major research subject relating to small power electric motors, electric railways and artificial satellites. In frictional driving parts of sliding contacts, the malfunction of the original device characteristics occurs. In order to avoid malfunction, selection of materials with good lubricity and low contact electric resistance is necessary for the sliding wear parts. Measurement of copper disc against copper pin (Cu - Cu) specimen was first carried out at low speed (0.013 m / sec), then molybdenum disulfide was used to simultaneously measurement of coefficient of friction and electric contact resistance. For copper pin samples, copper and two kinds of copper injected with molybdenum disulfide were prepared, and the effects of the presence or lack of the solid lubricants and current carrying characteristics on the sliding contacts were compared and examined, in the result the excellent effect of molybdenum disulfide could be confirmed.
