Abstract(in English) | Recently, Content-Centric Networking (CCN) has been extensively studied by networking researchers as one of the promising network architectures for realizing information-centric networks. CCN adopts a fundamentally different communication paradigm from that of the conventional Internet Protocol (IP). Therefore, advanced transport protocols developed for IP cannot be directly used in CCN. In the literature, we proposed a packet loss detection mechanism called Interest ACKnowledgement (ACK). Interest ACKs enable the entity to quickly and accurately detect Interest and Data packet losses in the network. We also conducted simulations to investigate the effectiveness of Interest ACKs in a rather simple network topology. In this paper, we focus on several scenarios which cause performance degradation of Interest ACK (i.e., contents caching at router and packet re-ordering in network), and investigate how much characteristics of Interest ACK is degraded under such severe scenarios through simulation experiments. Our findings includes that (1) performance degradation of Interest ACK hardly occurs due to contents caching at router, and (2) performance degradation of Interest ACK can be suppressed by appropriately selecting the control parameter in Interest ACK, even though packet order is frequently changed in network. Furthermore, in this paper, we propose a method for entity to estimate the link where packet loss occurred, called IA-L2D (Interest ACK for Lossy Link Detection), by utilizing Interest ACK that router on a path describes whether packets is relayed or not. |
