Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | This study examined quantification methods of the leader-follower (LF) relationship in human bodily communication. Our preliminary experiment was conducted to experimentally manipulate the LF relationship and compare linear/nonlinear quantification methods of it. Pairs of participants were asked to coordinate flexion-extension movement of their index finger and synchronize it with each partner’s movement in four conditions: The Blind-Blind condition (both participants wore eye-mask), the Blind-Open / Open-Blind condition (only one participant wore eye-mask) and the Open-Open condition. As a result, linear and nonlinear methods revealed similarly the LF relationship and the degree of coordination/synchronization. We should examine not only cyclic stationary data but also noisy non-stationary data with other experimental task conditions. |
