Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Presbycusis is deterioration of hearing due to aging, and senile persons with hearing loss are increasing year by year. Therefore, it is important to deepen understanding of presbycusis and hearing aids by people with normal hearing. In this research, we created the presbycusis emulator that allows normal hearing people to experience the deterioration of hearing. This emulator reproduced the decline in temporal resolution that is the cause of the degradation of the hearing ability of presbycusis. By using the reverb effect, the temporal masking due to the decline in temporal resolution was reproduced. We conducted two kinds of inspections for this system, Gaps-In-Noise test and word intelligibility test, and the usefulness of the system was suggested.
