Abstract(in English) Along with increasing of traffic demands in data centers, high-speed interconnects using optical fibers are employed. However, electrical signal processings are still depressing throughput of networks. In particular, although all-optical wavelength converters are essential for flexible routing in networks, no practical one compatible with PAM-4 has been reported. In this work, we demonstrate an practical all-optical wavelength conversion of PAM-4 using a quantum-dot semiconductor optical amplifier.
