Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In the adaptive bitrate video streaming services for mobile terminals, application quality degradation leads not only to the deterioration of quality of experience (QoE), but also to lower engagement, such as the decrease of viewing time and service cancellation, which is a serious problem for service providers. In this paper, we report the relationship between application quality and engagement (viewing time), clarified through the viewing experiment of adaptive bitrate video streaming services. Experimental results showed that when clustering viewing logs based on the mode of video resolution, viewing time increases exponentially with the increase of the average of bitrate and resolution.
