Heart Sound Acquisition and Segmentation using Arduino and Scilab

Abstract(in English) An Arduino Uno-based heart sound acquisition system for home use, and a Scilab-based heart sound segmentation method are presented herein. We proposed a novel heart sound segmentation method in time domain, employing analysis of a running cross-correlation waveform between a reference signal and the envelope of the heart sound signals. The results show that the correct identification ratio is approximately 93 % or higher for acquired heart sounds of a patient with the sick sinus syndrome.
