| Abstract(in English) | This shows the virtual CPE (Customer Premises Equipment) platform for common operator’s usecases. The CPE is a communication system, which is installed in user networks for such as connecting to the Internet in home use or VPN in business use. Many kinds of CPEs are provided for various usecases (various services) even in case of connecting the same network of the same operator. This causes high operational cost and low maintainability. Recently, virtualized CPE(vCPE) [1] is developed, which is installed in operator’s networks and consolidates maintenance. Such vCPE improves maintainability and reduces cost. However, current vCPE has a lot of issues, for example such vCPE is a closed system consisting of specified controller, in-network and in-home equipment then it still needs to install the specified equipment in user networks, and in addition to it, it has little flexibility, or little customizability to apply to other usecases. This paper shows requirements for the vCPE platform for common operator’s usecases and technical studies to implement open vCPE [2] by Open-Source Software (OSS) to solve above issues on current vCPE. |
