Analysis and Study of Arrival Packets per Unit Time of IP Traffic in the Enterprise Network

Abstract(in English) Recently, along with the increase and diversity of the traffic passing through the network, it is becoming more important to design a network considering with traffic characteristics. Especially, to improve communication quality, we have to set the network capacity and buffer size to be more adequately considering the burstiness of the traffic in IP networks. In conventional studies, we observed the actual network and found that the probability distribution of the packet arrival interval does not fit with the exponential distribution if the arrival interval is short. In addition, we proposed a new packet arrival model to represent these natures, however, the accuracy of the new model was insufficient. In this paper, we investigate issues of the conventional model and propose a new autoregressive model. Moreover, we evaluate the proposed model by the simulation.
