Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Nowadays, the Internet of things (IoT) is attracting our interest. IoT requires a flexible configuration of sensor networks. However, this is hindered by wired-charging sensor. Microwave power transfer (MPT) can be the solution to this problem. MPT interferes with communications and its charging efficiency is lower than the wired charging. The waves, which have high peak-to-average power ratio, are effective in improving the RF-DC conversion efficiency of rectifiers. This study focused on the pulse modulated waves, which have high peak-to-average power ratio. In the MPT with pulse modulated waves, both power and information can be transmitted using time-division multiplexing. In this study, the operation of rectifiers with pulse-modulated input signal is analyzed。We theoret- ically discussed about the RF-DC conversion efficiency of rectifiers with pulse-modulated input and experimented using the fabricated rectifier. We confirmed the consistency of the theoretical and experimental results. As a result, we improve the RF-DC conversion efficiency with low average power input.
