A Proposal of Orthogonal Precoded DFT-s-OFDM for Spectrum Sharing

Abstract(in English) DFT-s-OFDM has been adopted in the 4G LTE uplink which is induced by DFT-precoding to reduce high peak-to-average-power ratio (PAPR) of usual OFDM signals, on the other hand, its high spectral sidelobes remain, resulting in high out-of-band emission (OOBE). This paper proposes a novel precoding scheme named as orthogonal precoded DFT-s-OFDM for spectrum sharing by applying the idea of orthogonal precoding proposed for OOBE suppression of OFDM signals. Numerical experiments show that its OOBE is suppressed effectively by about 30 dB in LTE systems of bandwidth 1.4 MHz and 10 MHz as reserving all advantages of orthogonal precoding although it causes an acceptable penalty in the PAPR reduction of DFT-s-OFDM.
