Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In aquaculture and aquarium, the necessity of health management of each individual of fish is increasing. However, in acquiring biological information of fish based on image measurement, due to the trade-off between angle of view and resolution, high-resolution measurement of free-swimming fish is difficult with wide-angle cameras that observe the entire range of motion. In this paper, we propose a new self-window method based on ellipse information for fish individual recognition in an optical high-speed tracking imaging system using rotational mirrors. The proposed ellipse self-window method has high robustness against shielding of other individuals, and it can recognize the head part as the center where the heart is located. In evaluation experiments, we showed that the proposed method can track Medaka (Oryzias latipes) quickly with the ellipse information, and confirmed the robustness to disturbance and the recognized center position close to the head part.
