Abstract(in English) | Estimating student’s proficiency from the records of learning system is the key technology to provide adaptive learning system which enhances efficiency of learning. For the purpose of recommending optimal schedule and efficient coaching, temporal change of student’s proficiency is useful information. In current paper, we built temporal model of student’s proficiency using estimation of daily proficiency by applying item response theory (IRT) and regression analysis. In modeling the temporal student’s proficiency, limited number of daily records have negative impact on estimating daily proficiency. We propose the method which overcomes this problem by excluding days that have lower Fisher information from the temporal model. As a result, temporal proficiency model could predict future student’s performance on the same level with the prediction by existing IRT method using large data including student’s all past data. Our method enables acquiring expectation of elevation of student’s proficiency suggesting the availability to provide optimal learning schedule. |
