Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) has developed a mobile vehicle earth station for the Wideband InterNetworking engineering test and Demonstration Satellite "KIZUNA" (WINDS). Assuming movement immediately after the disaster with the disaster countermeasure organizations such as a fire department emergency relief team, this Ka band mobile vehicle earth station can be transmitted 24 Mbps data while in moving. In addition, as this satellite communication vehicle earth station is unprecedented in the world, it is technology for which the fire departments and defense bodies concerned have great expectations. On the other hand, when it comes to mobile vehicle earth stations, it is expected that the TCP communication could be further impacted due to the shadowing effect obstacles since it is the earth stations that are in motion. Therefore, in this paper, we report the results of shadowing effect on throughput for Ka-band mobile satellite communications in moving. |
