Abstract(in English) | It is important to assess that public free Wi-Fi APs in urban areas can respond to users' need when deploying additional APs to improve the availability. However, it is a difficult and time-consuming task to do it in real environment. In this research, we design a simulation scenario where a large number of public Wi-Fi users are watching live video in a large outdoor event. We leverage our public Wi-Fi database to get the information about the actual location and channel usage of the existing APs. From the simulation results, we have confirmed that the change of service provisioning rate and delay time in accordance with the increase of the number of people who are using public Wi-Fi in urban areas has been observed. |
