Joint Switching Characteristics of LCoS-Based WSS

Abstract(in English) n order to reduce the optical node cost in the forthcoming Space Division Multiplexing (SDM) era, joint-switching technique was proposed. However, there has been no literature that provided the detailed joint switching performance as fa as the authors know. In this paper, we report detailed joint switching performances in terms of variable optical attenuation, polarization dependent loss, and inter-port crosstalk under carious optical attenuation levels. We evaluated effects of the inter-sub-channel crosstalk in a spatial superchannel on joint-switching bit error rate performance.
