Abstract(in English) | In this paper, we propose WE-HI system that enable's wheelchair user to go near to a place where there is something interesting for the user without forcing an extra command. WE-HI system estimates wheelchair user's interest by using the user's head movement to calculate where the user is staring at. In this research, several evaluation experiments were conducted with experiment participants acting as wheelchair users interested in looking at posters on their way to original destination. In the experiment, WE-HI system, simple autonomous driving without WE-HI system and manual driving with joystick are compared. As a result, although the number of contents in the poster that wheelchair user could recognized by using WE-HI system was slightly inferior to that by joystick, it was far superior than that recognized by simple autonomous wheelchair. |
