Abstract(in English) | Single-electron devices with gold nanoparticles as island electrodes have been widely fabricated, but position control of gold nanoparticles is difficult. There has been reported a method in which gold nanoparticles are arranged and dispersed using resist grooves, and if one can connect gold nanoparticles with a tunnel junctions in the groove, it becomes one of useful methods for fabricating a single-electronic device. In this study, we have placed the 30nm of gold nanoparticles connected by thiol molecules inside resist grooves with different widths, and evaluated their placement states and electrical characteristics. Current suppression phenomenon and gate responses similar to those of a single-electron transistor was obtained at 4.2 K. |
