Abstract(in English) | Monocular camera localization is a fundamental task for autonomous navigation and AR/VR. However, monocular 3D reconstruction, which is used for camera localization, tends to accumulate errors in rotation, translation, and especially in scale---a problem known as scale drift. To overcome these errors, we propose a novel method that estimates camera poses utilizing geo-tagged images, such as those provided by Google Street View. Experimental evaluations on large-scale datasets show that the proposed approach sufficiently corrects scale drift of a kilometer-scale 3D reconstruction and achieves accurate camera localization. |
