Non-contact Thickness Measurement by Air-Coupled Ultrasonic

Abstract(in English) The thickness of the specimen was measured noncontact by aerial ultrasonic waves. In addition to planar specimens such as steel plates and acrylic boards, thickness measurements were made on curved surfaces and concavoconvex surfaces using the resonance method. Thickness was measured by the resonance method on a planar specimen and a curved specimen, and the thickness of each was measured. In addition, thicknesses of both the healthy part and the thinned part were measured when measuring a test specimen having a groove with a depth of 0.5 [mm] in a shape such as a circle on an acrylic plate having a thickness of 5.5 [mm]. We investigated the waveform of the resonance method every time and examined the part of the waveform to be evaluated for measuring the thickness of the specimen. Although a resonance signal is generated immediately after the transmission signal, noise is increased in the signal of the portion where time has passed, and a signal considered as resonance can not be detected.
