A Fundamental Study on Medical Image Diagnosis for Automatic Detection of Coded Defect Region Information

Abstract(in English) The coded defect and degradation in the medial imaging field is each differenced for characteristics, nature, and status of use, comparing to image in the engineering field. Therefore, the automatic diagnosis system by computer is needed in addition to judgement by human eyes previously. In the medical field, development of CT, MRI is enable to film and retrieve cross-sectional body image by about 10 seconds, and they are enable to detect lesions in early stage. Particularly, new medical image diagnosis based on image processing technology in the medical engineering is needed to assist laparoscopic surgery. In this paper, we used medical images as a frame still image cut from laparoscopic video filmed endoscope. First, we encoded and decoded for these images by H.265/HEVC, and then, we assessed objectively based on PSNR considering the coded image quality whether the automatic detection of coded defect region information is possible or not. Finally, we discussed for medical image diagnosis.
