Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We can perceive animacy even from the movement of a simple point on computer monitor. However, it has not been clarified yet that what factors of the moving make us perceive animacy. Apropos, the double pendulum movement is known that it has chaoticity and shows a strange movement like animals even the system is described as simple deterministic equations. What factors of the double pendulum movement make us perceive animacy? In this study, we generated various types of movements by changing the parameters of the equations, and evaluated animacy perception by psychological experiments. Then, we investigated the relationship between the results of psychological experiments and various physical properties of the movement. As a result, a strong correlation was confirmed between the randomness of acceleration in specific frequency domain and animacy perception. On the other hand, the relationship between chaos strength and animacy perception could not be confirmed.
