Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A self-organizing map (SOM) can be seen as a signal converter preserving its topology between the input and output spaces. One of its major features is information visualization based on an applied dataset. Usually, its contents are a binary code depending on their attribute defined in advance. Some of them are essential, while others are not. So, how to define such data representation is important from the viewpoint of developing effective feature map, because some un-essential items might conceal the remaining essential items. Then, an analytical method to project the original SOM's feature map to a subspace consisting of attentional items is tried in this article. As a result of some basic computer simulations, it is found that the above-mentioned idea is applicable.
